Chris Clement

"Grynner"
Minister/Church Elder - Memphis, TN

Chris has been involved with teaching Summerland's Realm system. He is often Summerland's "unofficial" representative abroad as he travels to festivals every summer. He is more commonly known at these festivals, and to the community at large, as Grynner. He follows a non-Wiccan path and has been knowingly pagan since 1989. As a lover of theology and a good debate, Grynner is frequently one of Summerland's more entertaining rabble-rousers.

Mirika Sumers

Co-founder/Church Elder - Memphis, TN

Mirika is a founding member of Summerland Grove and a practicing Pagan since 1990. As a mother of young children her path, a personal blending of Norse and Celtic traditions, has evolved from that of a solitaire to a family tradition. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Amy Phillips

Vice President
Minister - Memphis, TN

Amy is Summerland Grove's children's minister. She has been working with the children of the community for the past ten years. As a mother of two children, she prides herself on her ability to find new and fun ways to teach paganism. Amy follows the Avalon Tradition; it is a path of teachers and healers.

Brian Young

President

Minister - Memphis, TN

Brian has been a practicing pagan since 1997 and follows the Norse path of Asatru.  His passions include drumming, working with the runes, philosophy, and creating things (making jewelry, home brewing, writing).

In Memoriam

Sister, take the silver from my hand,
For the voyage into the Summerland;
Would I had another to give,
So you'd return yet this life to live
But I would not beg you tarry,
With a load too hard to carry;
Sail on across to Avalon,
We will honor you by going on.
Sail on across to Avalon,
Take your rest and worry none;
Sail on across to Avalon,
We will honor you by going on.
The blessings and songs of brighter days,
Your path through the darkness already paved;
Though we grieve for what must be,
On this day you are set free.
Fear not Sister take the Lady's hand;
She leads you to a brighter land;
In Their arms you will be safe;
Until you reach a new life one day.
Sail on across to Avalon,
Sail on across to Avalon,
Sail on across to Avalon,
We honor you by going on.

-- Lynda Logan - Minister Summerland Grove

Tammy Breckenridge
"Tzaddia Morningstar"
Minister - Huron, TN
July, 1971 - January, 2011

tzaddia

Tammy was co-founder of "Ritual Fest" and co-founder (along with Trudy Herring) of the two-part, yearly "Eleusinian Mysteries Initiations". She enjoyed hugs, creative ritual, crafts, jewelry making, writing, singing, reading, movies, music and most of all PEOPLE! She lived with her family at their home in Huron, a rural area between Lexington and Jackson TN, where they enjoyed being surrounded by nature. Though doing most of her work as a minister in her area, one of Tammy's favorite things to do was to get together with her Summerland Grove family, especially at "Festival of Souls"!
In January of 2011, Tammy lost her long running battle with cancer. Her community (both in Jackson and Memphis), and her family will miss her dearly.
